It, my computer just hangs and I have to force Outlook to quit. I removed the Outlook Express application from my Mac, along with any support files (preferences, extensions, etc.), restarted my computer, downloaded a new Outlook Express program, installed it, and the message is still in the outbox. I'm on a G4 running system 9. Sometimes messages would get stuck in outbox even if Outlook is connected to the Exchange Server and shows that all folders are up to date. When user clicks on Send Receive, Outlook hangs or crashes. After Outlook is restarted all messages from outbox are gone. Sometimes Outlook would hang simply typing a message. There may be many issues stopping the mail from being sent; such as: • A bad connection • Offline mail server • Corrupt messages • Too large file (videos, pictures etc) attachments for your email server to handle • Wrong password for the email account • Wrong email address Also note that iPad, iPod touch and iPhone users may experience this problem. If you think that your email sending process takes too long on your iOS device, here is how you can troubleshoot: How to clear stuck emails 1-Turn on Airplane mode (Settings > Airplane Mode) 2-Restart your iPhone or iPad by pressing and holding the on/off (sleep/wake) button until you see the red slider. Slide the read slider. Wait a few seconds. Then again press and hold the on/off button until the Apple logo appears. 3-Do not turn off Airplane Mode 4-Launch the Mail app 5-If you have more than one email accounts, select the one you are having problems with, e.g., iCloud, Gmail etc 6-Tab Outbox. Note if you do not see an Outbox, this means that your email was already sent successfully. 7-Now you can tap Edit as you will see this option is no longer grayed out or dim. 8-Select the stuck email message in the Outbox and then tap Trash Now you can turn off Airplane mode. You may want to resent this email again. If your cannot send the email again, you may want to do the followings: • Contact your email provider • Make sure that your email account settings are correct • Remove your email account and add again by going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Your Email Account > Delete See also: • • Did these tips work for you? Ah, yes, thank you Microsoft Solution for the missing Outbox that I have found: 1. Select 'Work Offline' in the Outlook menu 2. Force close Outlook 3. Re-open Outlook. You will still be offline and able to see the Outbox with the message that you want to delete. Go back to the Outlook menu and again select 'Work Offline', which will un-check that option and allow you to do a S/R. Editorial: It is not only Microsoft that slights Macintosh, many software vendors are cheesy about Mac support. It is simply the cross we bear. Outlook for MAC 2011 missing Outbox Problem Fix Today I sent a large zip file and it just kept sending it over and over but could not actually get it out due to it's size. I read the thread about how to fix but I did not have an Outbox to cure as I have seen here so many times. ![]() The easiest way I found to fix was simply as described go to file and go 'off line'. Then I sent another very short email to anyone and since I was working offline the message I just sent could not actually be sent and was put in the 'Outbox' which did NOW show up with me being offline. I was able to then get into the OUTBOX and delete the oversize file and the short message I just sent. Once deleted I just went back into File and went 'on line' again and Walla the problem was solved.
